Thousands of young musicians have nurtured their love of orchestral music, had formative experiences and made lifelong friends in the orchestra. Many of these musicians have gone on to professional careers in major orchestras both in the UK and internationally.

Council funding through the Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Music Service and membership fees only cover a small portion of our costs. The Youth Orchestra relies on the generosity of our patrons, sponsorship, donations and fundraising activities to help us thrive and further our musical experiences through residential courses and concert tours at home and abroad. 

Patrons pay £100 per person annually by standing order. This guarantees reserved seats at each concert and patrons are listed in the concert programme.
