ABOUT US...

The Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Youth Orchestra (formerly the South Glamorgan Youth Orchestra) was founded in 1975.

The orchestra rehearses weekly, during term time, at Whitchurch High School on the outskirts of Cardiff. We currently have 110 members aged 13 to 22.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

“The CCVGYO was integral to my artistic journey. Every rehearsal was like an instant hit of inspiration. It was after playing in this orchestra that I realised my potential and started to compose orchestral music. The friendships that we built will be life-long, I owe so much to the orchestra for providing such incredible training, nurturing my musicianship and giving me such amazing memories”.

Former Member (Violin)
